Organisation
Name, identifier and the actions to leave or delete the organisation.
This is where you change the organisation's identity, and where the two irreversible actions live: leaving it and deleting it.
The whole Settings section is only visible to the owner and admin roles of the
organisation. If your role is member it does not appear in the sidebar. Roles are explained in
Members & invitations.
Name and identifier
The name is the label you see in the selector at the top of the sidebar and in the breadcrumb. Changing it is purely cosmetic.
The identifier (slug) is the organisation's short, unique form. As you type it, availability is checked: if another organisation already uses it, the form tells you before you save.
Leaving the organisation
Any member can leave on their own. You lose access to that organisation's knowledge bases, documents and credentials, but nothing is deleted: the content still belongs to the organisation.
To get back in you need a new invitation, or your email domain to be registered (see Email domains).
If you are the only person with the owner role, consider transferring ownership before leaving.
An organisation with no owner is left with nobody who can delete it or manage its members.
Deleting the organisation
Only the owner role can delete the organisation, and it takes absolutely everything with it:
knowledge bases, indexed documents, credentials, domains, API keys and the member list.
It cannot be undone: there is no bin and no backup to restore from. That is why confirmation is explicit.
If you just want to stop using it for a while, leaving the organisation or removing its members are alternatives that do not destroy the content.
